Mayeno Consulting helps groups (organizations, coalitions and networks) step back and reflect upon their work in order to focus their resources and energies most effectively. We design processes that stimulate creative thinking and enable groups to identify assumptions that are implicit in their work. We use a simple logic model to help groups define their theories of change, clarify their unique roles, and identify effective strategies and actions. We also focus on identifying the steps required to move “big picture” thinking to concrete action and foster successful follow-through. Planning processes are tailored to the needs of each organization or group and may include:

• Community assessment to identify needs and strengths and develop recommendations

• Research (interviews, focus groups or surveys) to identify trends and assess stakeholder interests

• Clarification of mission, vision, and values

• Identification of strategic priorities and short, intermediate, and long-term goals and objectives

• Design and implementation of processes for involving community members and other stake holders in assessment and planning

• Provision of training and tools to build internal capacity for planning and implementation

• Development of program evaluation plans
